The Meditations, a spiritual roots reggae vocal harmony group from Jamaica, was formed in late 1974 by Ansel Cridland, Danny Clarke, and Winston Watson. They began recording as The Meditations in late 1976. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Woman Is Like a Shadow", which sold over forty-five thousand copies in its first month. The group's debut album, Message From The Meditations, was released in 1976 and featured notable tracks like "Babylon Trap Them" and "Rastaman Prayer". They collaborated with prominent artists such as Bob Marley, providing backing vocals on several of his songs. Throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, The Meditations released albums including Wake Up! (1978), Guidance (1979), and No More Friend (1983). In 2015, they released Jah Always Find a Way. Danny Clarke died on July 27, 2024.
