Latin rapper, singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Mr. Paradise combines his unconventional lyrics with rhythm that is equally eye-opening, revealing, and impactful to the human experience as we know it. He blends the sound of soul hip-hop and nostalgic flamenco melodies to forge a unique sound that got him signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label. Born Angel Ariel Batista in 1990 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and raised in Madrid, Spain from the age of two. At the age of ten, he moved with his mother to West New York, New Jersey - a melting pot of all the diverse communities that exist in the United States. There, he began writing and performing his first songs at the age of 14 with three high school classmates that formed a reggaeton group. The group quickly gained a loyal following and went on to play shows as far afield as the Calle 8 Festival in Miami. In 2015 he went solo as Mr. Paradise, releasing the smooth, melancholic single "Forastero," a snapshot of the transatlantic immigrant experience. The following year, he released another single, "Cirugía,” a healing process of a broken heart. The singles caught the attention of Roc Nation, which made Mr. Paradise the first signing to their new Latin imprint. The label re-released "Forastero" early in 2017, and the resultant buzz led to it accruing more than 2 million streams. In 2018 Mr. Paradise opened for Romeo Santos’ Golden Tour at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Agganis Arena in Boston and Bell Centre Arena in Montreal. In 2020 Mr. Paradise embarked on a journey as an independent artist to work on his album “Transatlantic”.
