Kim Planert is a German television, film composer and producer based out of Los Angeles, California.
He has composed music for over 230 episodes of prime-time television and feature films.
Credits include: ABC’s Castle, The Whispers (Steven Spielberg), Missing, The McKenna Files (Mark Gordon - pilot), Last Resort, The Chicago Code and The Gates. Lie to Me and The Chicago Code - (FOX), The Unit (CBS), Lie To Me and Rush (USA Network), Into The Blue II: The Reef.
He associate produced and wrote the score for award winning documentary, Skid Row Marathon. Feature film producing credits also include, A Reason and Chasing Grace.
Awards include, winning "Best Score in a TV Show" for his collaboration with Robert Duncan on Missing at the Hollywood and Music in Media Awards (HMMA). Winner for "Best Music in Film" and "Movie Music Track Award" for feature film, Skid Row Marathon at the Milan International Film Festival and Garden State Film Festival. A nomination at the Music and Sound Awards for Best Original Composition in a Feature Film Score. Nominated At the Jerry Goldsmith Awards, a nomination for "Best Song" and third place for "Free Creation". Awards and nominations for A Reason include a Gold Medal for "Best Original Score" at the Global Music Awards and a nomination for "Best Score" in an Indie Feature" at the HMMA's. Nest of Spiders won the award for "Best Use of Music in a Short Film" at the Park City Film Music Festival.
