Something Happens is an Irish pop‑rock band formed in Dublin in 1988, originally under the name The Dazzmen before rebranding when vocalist Tom Dunne joined. The group’s first release, the self‑issued Two Chances EP, attracted Virgin Records, which initially declined but later signed the band after a second proposal; the band released the live EP I Know Ray Harman in 1988. Their debut studio album Been There, Seen That, Done That followed later that year, featuring the single "Forget Georgia", which would later be covered by Canadian singer Emm Gryner in 2005. In 1990, the second album Stuck Together With God's Glue was recorded in Los Angeles and earned critical acclaim, with the track "Petrol" entering NME’s top fifty singles of the year; the album was released on Virgin but the label dropped the band shortly thereafter. The band’s third studio effort, Bedlam A Go‑Go, appeared on Charisma Records in 1992, and Planet Fabulous was issued by Wild Bikini in 1994, including the track "Momentary Thing" that appeared on the 2005 Veronica Mars soundtrack. Subsequent releases included the greatest‑hits compilation The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves in 1995 and a re‑packaged edition of Planet Fabulous titled Alan, Elvis & God in 1997. Since 1995, Something Happens has performed occasional reunion shows, including appearances at Whelan’s in Dublin, the “Bulmers Live at Leopardstown” event in 2019, and televised performances on RTÉ’s The Late Late Show in 2014 and 2020.
