Jimmy Dludlu, born on November 17, 1966, is a Mozambican jazz musician. He grew up in various countries including South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe, starting his guitar journey at the age of 13 with a homemade instrument. His debut album, Echoes from the Past, released in 1997, garnered widespread critical acclaim and earned him two FNB SAMA Awards for Best Newcomer and Best Contemporary Jazz Album in 1998. The album sold over 250,000 records and was later distributed internationally by Verve Records. Dludlu's subsequent albums include Essence of Rhythm (2000), Afrocentric (2001), Corners of My Soul (2005), Portrait (2007), and Tonota (2011). In 2016, he released In the Groove. In 2022, he received the South African Music Award Lifetime Achievement Award.
