Philip Anthony Campbell, born 7 May 1961 in Pontypridd, Wales, was a Welsh guitarist, songwriter and singer whose career spanned over three decades. He began playing guitar at age ten, later performing semi‑professionally with Contrast and Roktopus, before forming the heavy‑metal outfit Persian Risk, which issued singles such as "Calling for You" in 1981. During this period he toured globally and contributed to albums including Orgasmatron (1986) and We Are Motörhead (2000). In 2016 he launched Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, releasing The Age of Absurdity (2018) and Live in the North (2023).
