Chainska Brassika are an eight-piece Ska Reggae band, homegrown in the heart of south-east London. Their music has a unique blend of high-energy Ska rhythms, brass infused Reggae classics and smooth dulcet vocals. The band are household staples of the global Ska scene, with audiences across the UK, Europe and beyond. This year, the band are joined by new Guitarist, Stevie Lawrence, previously of Punk syndicate The Towers of London. This musical outfit are notorious for delivering slick, rounded music, with high energy; NO time to sit down!
Chainska have headlined venues and festivals from Alexander Palace to Glastonbury, from Outlook in Croatia and the London International Ska Festival. The band have played historic shows at the Jazz Cafe, Notting Hill Carnival and Rototom Sunsplash Festival, as well as supporting The Skatalites, Madness on two stadium tours and the late Toots & the Maytals. With the music industry knocked off its feet by COVID this year, the crew are itching more than ever to get back to the international stage.
Chainska have produced three albums; 'Tales of a Londoner' recorded & mixed by Grippa (Hempolics) and mastered by Dubmatix (released March 2022), 'Skinna' produced by Nick Mannaseh, and 'Harry J Business', produced by double Grammy Award-winning Stephen Stewart, at the legendary Harry J Studios in Kingston, Jamaica, plus ‘Unwind’ and ‘Chainska Brassika Live @ BBC Maida Vale’ EPs, along with a number of singles, including ‘Calm City’ and ‘Simple Things ft. Frank Harper’.
