Clodagh Rodgers, born on 5 March 1947 in Warrenpoint, County Down, Northern Ireland, is a singer known for her contributions to pop music. She began her singing career at the age of thirteen, opening for Michael Holliday and later signing with Decca Records in 1962. Her debut single, "Believe Me I'm No Fool" / "End of the Line", was produced by Shel Talmy, and she made her UK TV debut in September 1962, performing "Let's Jump the Broomstick" on BBC TV's Adam Faith Show. She shifted to EMI's Columbia label in 1965, releasing singles such as "Stormy Weather"/"Lonely Room". She also appeared in various song festivals and musical films, including Just for Fun (1963) and It's All Over Town (1964). In 1971, she was chosen to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest with "Jack in the Box", where she finished fourth. The single also reached number four on the UK Singles Chart. Her other notable hits include "Come Back and Shake Me" and "Goodnight Midnight". She released several albums, including You Are My Music (1973) and Save Me (1977). After her divorce in 1979, she stopped making new music and cut back on live appearances. Her final release was a compilation CD in 2012, Come Back & Shake Me: The Kenny Young Years 1969–71. Clodagh Rodgers passed away on 18 April 2025 in Cobham, Surrey.
