DDF DJIBRIL a.k.a Djibril Franck Diarra is an Ivorian Author/Composer/Rapper. Born in bustling Abidjan, the most populated metropolis of Ivory Coast and musical capital of West Africa. DDF migrated to the US in the 90’s after earning his Baccalaureate in economics. One year later, he’s back to Ivory Coast transformed by his American experience with a new passion, hip hop. He’s now become a skilled rapper / songwriter who delivers precise and witty lyrics in both French and English. He starts off in the background writing lyrics for various established Ivorian rappers. He releases his first album in 1997 titled La Devise. With that album DDF achieved recognition from the underground hip hop community of his country and commercial success . With hits such as La Flotte in which he introduces his posse and celebrates its domination over Ivorian hip hop, DDF receives the award of best Ivorian rapper/ rap album from The Association of French-Speaking schools (ACEFA) in 1997. DDF decides to go back to the US in 2000 to pursue business studies in New York City.
2021-2022 DDF is back with a brand new album titled Ascension which symbolizes his ascent to musical success and more maturity in his flow. DDF is back and both old and new schools will agree that he’s one of the strongest MC’s in Africa and the World.
