Tina Arena, born Filippina Lydia Arena on November 1, 1967, in Melbourne, Australia, captured the nation's attention with her powerful vocals and heartfelt songs. Rising to fame as "Tiny Tina" on the TV variety show Young Talent Time, Arena became the longest-serving cast member, amassing a national fan base during her seven year stint. Her debut album Strong as Steel, released in 1990, featured the catchy pop anthem "I Need Your Body," which reached platinum status. Seeking artistic growth, Arena ventured to Los Angeles to record her second solo album, Don't Ask, in 1996. The album exceeded all expectations, achieving an astonishing ten times platinum certification in Australia and propelling Arena to the top of the charts.
