Tuure Kilpeläinen, born on June 29, 1970 in Uusikaupunki (Finland), is a Finnish singer-songwriter and guitarist whose career, which began in the early 1990s, has developed between solo projects and long-term collaboration with the band Tuure Kilpeläinen & Kaihon Karavaani. After founding the band Salamanteri, which released an EP in 1996 while he was studying at the School of Applied Arts, Kilpeläinen embarked on a solo career in 2003 with the albums Tuure Kilpeläinen (2003), Just (2005) and Kysymyksiä sudelle (2006), and moved closer to public recognition by signing to WEA/Warner in 2010. In 2010, he founded Tuure Kilpeläinen ja Kaihon Karavaani, a group influenced by folk and traditional music, incorporating instruments such as accordion and percussion. With them, he released several albums: Valon pisaroita (2010, certified gold, No. 10 in the Finnish charts), Erämaa (2011, certified platinum, No. 4), Afrikan tähti (2012, gold, No. 2), Käpälikkö (2014, No. 3), Surusilmäinen kauneus (2016, No. 1) and Kaihon karnevaali (2017, No. 18). 2023 saw the release of the solo album Sanat jää ilmaan, produced in collaboration with Johannes Brotherus and marking the tenth studio release of his solo and group career. In 2025, the single "Auta mua!" reached No. 27 in the Finnish Radio Top 100.
