Insolence, an American band formed in San José, California in 1995, initially gained traction through local performances and quickly built a solid fanbase in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their early tours included notable acts such as Rancid, Incubus, and System of a Down. In 2001, Insolence released their debut major-label album Revolution under Maverick Records, which featured the single "Poison Well" that was regularly aired on MTV. The band's music was also included in soundtracks for films like Little Nicky and trailers for The Last Castle. Following this success, they toured with acts including Black Sheep, Hoobastank, and Soulfly. Insolence later signed with Warner Music and Powerslave Records, selling over 150,000 copies of their album. Their diverse musical style blended elements from genres such as hardcore, ska, punk, drum and bass, dancehall, reggae, and hip-hop, often incorporating samples and rap vocals.
