Formed by bassist Mark Beazley in 1998, Rothko’s debut album, A Negative For Francis, was released in 1999 on Lo Recordings. Rothko’s original line-up went on to release two more albums on Lo and a mini album, In The Pulse Of An Artery, on Simon Raymonde’s Bella Union as well as releasing singles and EPs on Fierce Panda, Livid Meerkat, Narwhal and Foundry Records along the way. Since 2003, the group has consisted of an ever evolving band of musicians and artists. Mark continues to record and release his music on Trace Recordings, with 2018’s Blood Demands More Blood receiving widespread critical acclaim.
