Dif Juz, a British post-punk instrumental band formed in London in 1980, consisted of Dave Curtis and Alan Curtis on guitars, Gary Bromley on bass, and Richard Thomas on percussion and saxophone. The group evolved from the punk band London Pride. Dif Juz signed with the label 4AD and released their first EP Huremics in 1981. Their debut album under the label, Extractions, was released in 1985 and reached number 11 on the UK Indie Chart. The band collaborated frequently with Cocteau Twins, with Robin Guthrie producing several of Dif Juz's recordings and Liz Fraser contributing vocals to "Love Insane" from Extractions. Despite health issues affecting Dave Curtis and Bromley, the band continued with Scott Rodger on bass for a period. In 1999, Dif Juz released their compilation album, Soundpool.
