Ras Soto is a renowned Mozambican singer and songwriter of Dancehall, Reggae and Ragga Muffin, whose career is marked by both music and social activism. He began his musical career at the age of 9 and, over time, explored African rhythms and rap, where he developed his writing, rhyming and improvisation. In his youth, his Rastafarian background connected him to reggae music, leading him to specialize in the Dancehall style and become a reference in the genre.
Versatile, Ras Soto sings and composes in English, Portuguese, Iyaric (Rastafarian language), Patois (Jamaican English) and Xangana (Mozambican language). His ability to move between the reggae styles has made him sought after by producers from several countries. His discography includes the album "Love is Solution" (2014), the mixtapes "Dancehall Time" (2019) and "Ras Soto World Wide Mixtape Vol. 1" (2020), and the EP "Nah Go Let Them" (2021).
His song "Extra Ordinary" (2021) was licensed by Zumba Fitness and has been played in over 180 countries. In 2022, the show Swing Africano – RaÃzes do Dancehall toured São Paulo via ProAC. In 2024, he received the Trabalhadores de Cultura award from Lei Paulo Gustavo, and in 2025, the Social Change Award from Beyond Music.
Ras Soto currently resides in São Paulo, Brazil, where he continues to expand his musical career.
