Harry Allen, born October 12, 1966 in Washington, D.C., is an American jazz tenor saxophonist. Influenced by his father's big band drumming and recordings of Paul Gonsalves, Allen began playing saxophone at a young age. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1988. Allen's first album as a leader was How Long Has This Been Going On? released in 1989. He gained significant recognition for his work with John Pizzarelli, including the album Harry Allen Meets John Pizzarelli Trio (1996). Throughout his career, Allen has released numerous albums such as Tenors Anyone? (1997) and Something About Jobim (2015). He is known for his interpretations of jazz standards and bossa nova.
