AOTB is a Swiss band on the border between djent and deathcore sprinkled with inspirations from various other styles. Composed of 5 determined members, the band offers tracks combining technicality, groove and power.
AOTB is founded in February 2016 in Delémont, around drummer Thomas Lachat and guitarist Lionel Gerber, quickly joined by bassist Nil Flückiger, guitarist Pablo Lagares and vocalist Jean-Marc Kottelat. During the first 6 months, Lionel and Thomas soon put their hearts into composing the band's first songs, followed by Pablo, who later made a major contribution. After writing the lyrics for the first track, the band chose to call themselves "Advent Of The Beast", a name that perfectly represents what the band illustrates through their music. Subsequently, the band decided to simplify its name, keeping the first four letters of "Advent Of The Beast": AOTB.
The band sees its first line-up change in February 2017, following the arrival of Franck De Luca on vocals. The writing of lyrics for several tracks then enabled the quintet to perform on several stages in French-speaking Switzerland; at the "Corn'Rock" festival in Cornaux, at "Zelig" in Lausanne, at "SAS" in Delémont, at the "Societ'Halle" in Moutier, the "Undersound" festival in Undervelier, the "Festilab" festival in Corcelles (BE) and the "Cormo'rock" festival.
In early 2019, AOTB begin recording their debut EP "Mass Brainwashing" at "Greglerouxprod" in Delémont. The four-track EP denounces in its lyrics the problems of society in general, such as war, the indoctrination of children in certain countries and animal violence. "Mass Brainwashing" is unveiled to the general public on October 14, 2019 and is available on all streaming platforms.
Franck De Luca, busy with studies and other musical projects, leaves the band at the beginning of 2021. The arrival of new singer Jonas Babey brings a new artistic dimension with his powerful, technical voice. Since this new era, AOTB has been able to perform in other concert halls, including "La Galerie du Sauvage" in Porrentruy, the "Bücheler Hus" in Kloten and the "Akut" for the "SlamCult" event in Thun. These multiple concerts have enabled AOTB to share the stage with groups such as Almost Human, Mouche-Miel, Adelon, Sons of Coherence, Eversis, and international acts like Colpocleisis, Hurakan and Kanine.
