Abambo AB is a pioneering Malawian Hip Hop artist. He is the talent behind mega radio hits like Chef de Cuisine, Dear Blantyre, Move Yotsimphina and Double diff.
He is also a member of the celebrated pioneering rap group THE BASEMENT, the group credited with mega hits like Banyamulenge, Kaduwa(remake), Sonjola and Dollaryanga ili kuti to name a few.
A.B's distinct dramatic vocal delivery and entertaining witty lyricism gained him recognition as one of Malawi's most gifted hip hop artists.
WORKS WITH THE BASEMENT NU STATE OF MIND (2006)
The album included mega radio hits like Malawi, Vimbuza and the radio and TV mega hit Banyamulenge.
TALK OF THE TOWN (2007)
Hailed as the group's best album, the critically acclaimed album boasted mega radio hits like kaduwa, sonjola and Dolla yanga ili kuti and included production contributions from Dizzy, Dynamike, Purpose and Desert Eagle. The album also featured guest appearances by Goodson Gomonda, Dj Lomwe, BarryOne and Khama of Christ Melodies.
FAME AND FORTUNE (2008)
The album included production contributions from Dizzy, Desert Eagle, Daredevils, and Knoxx. Guest artists on the album included Goodson and Barry Gomonda, BarryOne, Shawishe, Incyt and Miyanda.
Mega hits from the album include the TV and radio single Kadona Kanga, and radio hits Moyo Ulipo and Aishosha.
SOLO WORKS
CHEF DE CUISINE MIXTAPE(2009)
The chef de cuisine mitxape was a collaboration between A.B and long time friend and producer Dizzy. Dizzy handled the Instrumentation and A.B handled the vocal perfomances. The album also included vocal contributions from BarryOne and Incyt and a beat from Dj Sonye.
Chef de cuisine was the first Malawian mixtape to be distibuted online.
DAY ONE (2010)
The offering included mega hits such as Double diff, ndabetcha ndekha, umandiopela kutali, move yotsimphina and the controversial zonse ndi mwado.
Production ranged from contributions made by Dizzy, Purpose, Sean B and Marcus of Daredevils. Featured artists include Khama, Sean B, Frank Cn, Young Kay, Tanaposi and Eugene & Thoko Suwedi.
The artist's also recorded the 2011 theme song for the lauch of the Miss Warm Heart of Africa beauty pageant.
