Die Fidelen Mölltaler, originally known as Die original fidelen Mölltaler, were a quintet of volkstümliche Musik from Kärnten, Austria. The group was founded in 1971 by Huby Mayer, Josef "Sepp" Ladinig, Lucky Ladstätter, Peter Pichler, and Wolfgang Kaufmann. Their first public performance took place in 1971 at the Lobersberger Kirchtag in Rangersdorf. By 1975, they transitioned to professional musicianship, performing their own compositions by Huby Mayer. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Warum nur, das frag ich dich" in 1979, which earned them their first Goldene Schallplatte. They regularly performed at events like the Sulmtaler Kirchtag and embarked on international tours across continents including Brazil, Canada, and Thailand. Die Fidelen Mölltaler released over 50 albums, with notable works such as Stützli-Sex (1980), Autofahrer Unterwegs (1981), and Heute Spiele Ich Ein Lied Für Dich (1982). The group was awarded 22 gold, eight platinum, one diamond, and one titan Schallplatten. In 2016, Die Fidelen Mölltaler announced their retirement, concluding their career with a farewell tour that included performances at the Salzburger Festspielhaus and in Switzerland.
