Foy Vance, born Foy Best Vance on November 18, 1974 in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland, is a singer-songwriter known for his soulful blend of folk, blues, roots and alternative rock, marked by pregnant interpretations and richly crafted songs rooted in personal experience and American influences. Emerging in the mid-2000s, he released his debut album Hope in 2007 and gained further notoriety with Joy of Nothing (2013), which received critical acclaim and led to tours with the likes of Ed Sheeran and Bonnie Raitt. The second artist to sign to Gingerbread Man Records, Ed Sheeran's label, Foy Vance followed up with albums The Wild Swan (2016), From Muscle Shoals and To Memphis (released in 2019), Signs of Life (2021) and The Wake (2026).
