The Blackout Crew, a hip house group from Halliwell, Bolton, Greater Manchester, England, formed in 2007. The collective, featuring MCs Jordan Cover, Kevin Allison, Kurtis Chadwick, and Luke Purcell, entered the scene with the 2008 single "Put a Donk on It", released on 28 July 2008. Their breakthrough came with the 2009 album Time 2 Shine, which peaked at number 42 on the UK Albums Chart and produced singles such as "Bbbounce", "Put a Donk on It", and "Dialled". The group collaborated with producer Anthony Sabanskis and contributed a B‑side remix for Metronomy’s 2008 single "A Thing for Me". In 2023, members of the reformed Blackout Crew appeared on Jax Jones’s single "Won’t Forget You" (donk edit), which reached number 28 on the UK Singles Chart, surpassing the original edit’s peak. The group’s work remains a notable example of the UK donk rap movement. In 2026, The Blackout Crew released a follow‑up to their first single titled "Put a Donk on It Pt 2."
