Pick Up Goliath smashes genres and redefines boundaries. Obsessed with pushing limits, mixing styles, and creating music that hits hard while staying forward looking, he treats music as a place for real artistic ambition.
His new release, Artificial Ascendency, has been praised as one of the most distinctive heavy records of the year. The four movement metal symphony, featuring Josh Baines of Malevolence and virtuoso drummer Mike Malyan, blends classical structure with modern intensity to chart humanity’s rise, fall, and reckoning in a visceral, narrative arc.
Before that came Cult of the Lamb: Hymns of the Unholy, described as “a spectacular album that brings together the legends and icons of contemporary metal to establish itself as one of the most innovative and influential proposals in the genre”. With guests Howard Jones, Matthew K. Heafy, Scott LePage and more, it cemented Pick Up Goliath as a force in modern metal.
From touring with Armstrong and sharing stages with You Me At Six and The Pigeon Detectives to running Mammoth Sound Studio in Spain, he now produces everything from crushing metal to immersive electronic work, collaborating internationally with artists such as Duran Duran guitarist Dom Brown.
He previously taught songwriting and production at The BRIT School, shaping early careers for RAYE, Rex Orange County, Olivia Dean, Cat Burns, Lola Young, black midi and more.
Pick Up Goliath is not here to follow trends. He is here to push metal forward.
