Wicked Expectation is an alternative electronic band.
Band was formed in 2012 and published its debut album 'Visions' in 2015 that was played live across Italy and Switzerland.
‘Visions’ concept is about the relationship between human, nature and technology: a restless and schizophrenic coexistence that might generates great innovations and catastrophes at the same time.
'Visions' was launched together with 'News' videoclip (www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JvG6jxjCFw).
'Visions' was self-produced by the band and recorded at 'Manifatture Musicali' studio.
The sound research and new instrumental set-up pushed the band to create new songs included into the new album 'Folding Parasite'.
The new songs have a massive use of synthesizers and samples, with less guitars and acoustic drums compared to the previous album. Groove is often a combination of Bass, Synth Bass and Drum Machines.
The album tour let the band play across Italy, Switzerland, France and Belgium.
'Folding Parasite' was launched by 'Seriously Laughing' single (www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQHhSEQ1NqA) and was recorded, produced and mixed by the band. The album was published on March, 10th 2017.
In April 2019 the band released 'Echoes' which represent a step further into Wicked Expectation production process. The sound is even more electronic and abstract with downtempo rhythms, allowing the band to play also dj sets.
'Echoes' is a four tracks EP, self-produced by the band and mixed/mastered by Jo Ferliga at 'Tapewave Mastering' studio (@tapewavemastering). It was published under 'Doubledoubleu' independent label.
In June 2020 Wicked Expectation's new EP "Emotional Control" came out. It’s a two tracks EP which combines IDM and Broken-beat genres, surrounded by atmospheric grooves that create an immersive sound for the listener. Inspired by clubbing culture, the essence of Emotional Control is reflected by the two tracks that differs a lot from each other. The EP has been recorded during COVID-19 lockdown: it expresses the need of escapism with a melancholic feeling that embraces the two tracks. The EP has been published by "Sideshape Recordings" (@sideshape).
In March 2021 Wicked Expectation released a new single: “Beat Around The Bush” which represents a step further into Wicked Expectation’s journey, alongside with Sideshape Recordings label. An UK Garage beat combined with layers of synths and percussive bass line. Upon all this, melodic vocals which embrace the whole track. This new track comes out after a dark winter, hitting like a punch on your face, redefining concepts right on time before they break apart. Put your headphones, press play, dance and sing it out loud. It might be hard to realize, but there’s no need to tell a lie in this story. Just hold on and beat around the bush.
In 2022 two singles released: Moving Clockwise and By the Air. But some new music is planned for 2023!
