Jack Rubies emerge from their Hidey Hole with brand new sounds!
From London, England the Jack Rubies are songwriter, lead singer, and guitarist Ian Wright; songwriter, singer, and guitarist S.D. Ineson; bassist Steve Brockway; percussionist Lawrence Giltnane; and drummer Peter Maxted.
They debuted with the mini album "Witch-Hunt in Lotusland" in 1986. The group then followed up with a series of singles in the UK, and this material was later assembled into an album, "Fascinatin’ Vacation," for US release in 1988. Lead track ‘Be With You’ became a college radio staple, and the accompanying video was regularly screened on MTV.
A second LP, "See the Money in My Smile," appeared in 1990, and the group toured extensively throughout America, often appearing with They Might Be Giants and Modern English. By the mid '90s the band had fragmented. Ineson formed The Milagro Saints with Joyce Bowden and Lee Kirby, relocating to Raleigh, NC. Brockway joined The Ton Ups in New York City, and Wright was a member of the short-lived Martha, Stewart, and the Seven Day Cure, with ex-members of Paw, Madder Rose, and Speedball Baby.
Now, after years of silence, the original line-up is writing and recording, with the single ‘Hidey Hole' being the first new release since reforming.
