Nostalgia, mystery and contemplation define Colibri (@cantodecolibri) the musical project by José Neto with Levi Vieira (Guitar), Rodrigo Santos (keyboards) and produced by Tiago Simões, from Cremenow Studio. This band was born from the partnership founded in 2017 and has already produced results in the form of an album (Canto de Colibri; 2019), partnerships with other artists (Hiran, Vandal, Galf AC) and a series of shows since then.
In 2022, the band comes back for another release with “Otherside”, a movie with a new single for it’s soundtrack, where the band explores tender melodies from deep into isolation.
From the first release it carries a signature marked by a sound that innovates, but dares to be nostalgic yet without derivations; with lyrics that denote deeper reflections and also a liberating and sometimes placid unpretentiousness. Their new songs tend to infuse, in a reflective and quirky way, the warm, modulated textures and rhythmic brutalism of 80s landmark schools such as post-punk, dream-pop and shoegaze in the extravaganza of studio arrangements reminiscent of productions of the 60's and 70's.
