An American singer, musician, and actor from Miami, Florida. Jahnathan Nerette was born to Haitian and Jamaican parents. Growing up, Jahnathan was introduced to a variety of music and art. By the time he turned 12, he began to write lyrics and record demos. After school, Jahnathan would use his father’s laptop to record freestyles over hip hop beats. He kept these recordings to himself, shying away from anyone who would ask him to recite them. By the age of 15, he was certain that music was what he would be doing with his life. When talent show posters would appear on the school walls, he was the first to sign his name. When Jahnathan picked up his father’s guitar for the first time, he began to fiddle with it and eventually taught himself to play what he heard in his head. He did the same with Piano and more instruments but claims, he still can’t read music and still doesn’t truly understand the technical side of what he is doing or playing. He says, “You shouldn’t have to think that deep into your art, just express what you feel in the moment and let the people judge it later.” Jahnathan hopes to spread nothing but love through his music. He strives to give people the same euphoric feeling he would get when listening to the sounds of James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Ky-mani Marley, Sammy Davis J.R, and all the greats that came before him. He calls his brand Roots Evolution.
