Juanito Valderrama, born Juan Valderrama Blanca on May 24, 1916, in Torredelcampo, was a Spanish singer associated with flamenco and copla. He began performing in the 1930s and established his career on stage in Madrid. His recordings include releases such as the EP Cante grande (1962) and Historia Del Cante Flamenco Vol. III (1968). Among his best-known songs is "El emigrante", associated with post–Spanish Civil War themes. Valderrama also appeared in films including El rey de la carretera (1956) and Gitana (1965). Over his career, he received honors such as the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts (2002) and the Medal of Andalusia (1998). He died on April 12, 2004, in Espartinas.
