Moongarden was an Italian progressive rock group from Italy, founded in 1993 by Cristiano Roversi, David Cremoni, and Adolfo Bonati. The band's debut album was Moonsadness (1994). After Bonati's departure, Massimiliano Sorrenti and Dimitri Sardini joined the group. Their second album was Brainstorm of Emptiness (1995). Following a hiatus, Moongarden returned with Luca Palleschi and Luca Dell'Anna, releasing the album The Gates of Omega (2001). The band's albums included Songs from the Lighthouse (2008) and A Vulgar Display of Prog (2009). Moongarden was compared to the groups Porcupine Tree, Marillion, and Genesis.
