Foolio

Foolio is a Florida-based rapper who released viral hits like "Voo Doo" and "Play With Me" during a career that was tragically cut short in June 2024, when he lost his life during a gang-related shooting. He was born as "Charles Andrew Jones II" in Jacksonville, Florida, on June 21, 1998. Raised in a crime-ridden neighborhood, he joined the street gang KTA as a child and suffered the loss of his father, who was murdered during a shooting in 2011. That violent upbringing inspired his approach to rap music, as did the influence of hip-hop icons Eminem and Drake. "Cuming Up," his debut single, was released in 2015, while Foolio was still a teenager. The Industry Invasion EP followed in 2017. Working with Zaytoven, Foolio made his full-length debut with 2018's 6toven, an album that featured the hit songs "Crooks" and "Ring Around the Rosie." A full-length mixtape, Never Wanted Fame, was released the following year. Teaming up with Project Youngin, he released Project 6 in late 2019. What followed was a dizzying blur of releases during the early 2020s, including Top Conniver (2020), Love Me Like I'm Dead (2020), Confidential Thoughts (2021), Life of Me (2022), Final Destination (2023), and Resurrection (2024). The violence of Foolio's childhood never fully left his life, though, and the rapper was fatally shot on June 23, 2024, at the age of 26. That same week, his official remix video for "When I See You" reached number 15 on the Top 100 YouTube Clips chart in America. One week later, the video for "List Of Dead Opp" reached number 89 on the same chart.
