Bruno Turner was born on February 17, 1931, in London. He is a British musicologist, choral conductor, broadcaster, publisher, and businessman who began conducting Renaissance ensembles in the 1950s. Bruno Turner established the Pro Musica Sacra choir in 1956, directing it until 1964, and facilitated a complete liturgical reconstruction of Robert Fayrfax's Missa Tecum Principium in 1962. He was a frequent conductor of Pro Cantione Antiqua of London from the late 1960s into the 1990s. Bruno Turner co-founded Mapa Mundi in 1977, dedicated to publishing Medieval music.
