Harem Scarem, an Australian blues rock band, formed in Melbourne in 1982. The group was fronted by Christopher Roy Marshall on lead vocals and included his brother Charlie Marshall initially on bass guitar. Their first gig took place in February of the same year, and they signed with local label Au Go Go Records, releasing their track "Love Attraction" on a compilation album Asleep at the Wheel (1983). In 1984, Harem Scarem released their debut EP Dogman, featuring the song "Fever Rock". The band's lineup evolved over time, with notable members including Peter Jones on drums and Barry Palmer on lead guitar. Their debut studio album, Pilgrim’s Progress (1986), received critical acclaim and included singles "Hard Rain" and "Miracle Mile". In 1988, they released their second studio album, Lo & Behold, under Citadel Records. The band disbanded in 1989 but left a significant mark on the Melbourne inner-city music scene.
