Mercy Killers was an American gothic rock and punk rock band formed in 2004 in Los Angeles, California. The ensemble was founded by Craig Fairbaugh and Shane Gallagher, who later became members of the alternative rock band +44. The group's lineup also included bassist Sam Soto, also known as Sampire, and drummer Colin Berrill. The band released its debut eponymous recording, Mercy Killers (EP), in 2005 through Rancid Records. Following a recording deal with Hellcat Records, the ensemble released its first studio album, Bloodlove, on June 6, 2006. Fairbaugh previously performed with groups including Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards and the Transplants, while Soto co-founded the band Original Sinners. The ensemble disbanded in 2008.
