Armik Dashchi, known professionally as Armik, and born to Armenian parents, is an Iranian-American New Flamenco guitarist, composer, and producer. He showed an early talent for music by age seven, buying his first classical guitar by pawning his watch. At nine, he completed formal music lessons and began a rigorous instructional regimen. Armik became a professional recording artist at 12 years old. In 1981, he moved to Los Angeles where he performed with various artists before launching his solo career with the album Magic Touch (1992), followed by Rain Dancer (1994). His 1995 album, Gypsy Flame, helped establish him in the emerging New Flamenco genre and reached gold status in Australia. Armik founded Bolero Records in 2002, releasing numerous albums including Lost in Paradise (2002), Romantic Dreams (2004), and Barcelona (2008). Several of his albums charted on Billboard's Top New Age Albums.
