Edda Művek, a Hungarian rock band, was formed in 1973 in Miskolc under the initial name "Griff." The group, which later changed its name to Edda and finally settled on Edda Művek, drew inspiration from Norse mythology for its name. Frontman Attila Pataky "Muvek" joined the band in 1978, marking a pivotal moment in their career. In 1979, they recorded their first single, "Minden Sarkon Álltam Már / Álom" and released their debut album Edda Művek, in 1980, which became a certified diamond disc in Hungary with over 500,000 units sold. The band's success continued with appearances in the movie "Ballagás" and its soundtrack. However, internal conflicts led to the disbandment of Edda Művek in December 1983. After a hiatus, Pataky revived the band in 1984, leading to a comeback performance that was recorded and released as their fifth album, Edda Művek/5. (1985). The band has since maintained a vigorous touring schedule and has released original studio material every three to four years. Notable albums include Fire & Rain (1998) and Inog a világ (2012).
