Axel Fischer, born Axel Fischer on September 25, 1981, in Bad Oldesloe, Germany, is a German actor and singer. At the age of eleven, he formed his first band, Enjoy It. Four years later, he became a member of the boy group Boys’ Voice, with whom he released two CDs. In 2002, he won the international Radio-Antenne-Popstarcasting and supported Jeanette Biedermann on her tour.
His breakthrough came in 2005 when he starred as Axel, the frontman of a school band, in the ProSieben series Abschlussklasse 2006. His first single "Mädchen, mach Dich frei" was promoted through the show and entered the German charts in December 2005. In 2007, he formed the schlager duo Neue Zeiten with Thorsten Kolsch, releasing the hit single "Eine Nacht (die nie zu Ende geht)". He gained significant chart success with his cover of the Neue-Deutsche-Welle song "Amsterdam", which reached Number 38 in the German single charts in November 2008. The accompanying music video became a viral sensation. In 2010, his reworked version of "Amsterdam" titled "Traum von Afrika" also charted at Number 38. Other notable singles include "Du trägst keine Liebe in dir", which reached Number 60 in Germany in November 2009, and 2019's "3 Tage in Prag" featuring DJ Herzbeat. He has received multiple Ballermann-Awards, including Bestes Remake / Bester Cover-Song for "Amsterdam" and "Nessaja".
