Riccardo Del Turco, born on September 7, 1939 in Florence, Italy, is a singer-songwriter. He joined the Riccardo Rauchi Orchestra in 1957 and was signed by RCA in 1962 after being noticed by producer Nanni Ricordi. Del Turco's breakthrough came in 1966 with "Figlio unico" and in 1967 with "Uno tranquillo". His major hit, "Luglio" (1968), topped the Italian Hit Parade Singles Chart for two weeks in 1968 and sold over 500,000 copies. The song was covered internationally by artists including the Tremeloes and Joe Dassin. Del Turco participated in the Sanremo Music Festival in 1969 with "Cosa hai messo nel caffè" (1969) and again in 1982 with "Non voglio ali" (1982) and "Serena alienazione" (1984). He co-founded the group Superquattro and has written songs for notable artists such as Andrea Bocelli and Mina.
