Just as his international roots represent the crossroad between North and South, German-South African Dj/Producer, Leo Large is the junction between modern and classical elements of international descent that cannot be constrained to one genre.
He has the ability to effortlessly combine Hip Hop, Gqom, AmaPiano and Afrobeats with touches of Afrohouse and Kwaito into a mesmerizing and epic storyline.
On his journey around the continent he teamed up with many african artists and performed on festivals, clubs, beaches and even boats.
The experience bled into Leo Large’s obsessive production methods and unlocked a newfound sense of freedom in his songs as the ideas revealed themselves with one simple mission: “Cultural exchange!” he declares. “I want to make music that big, bright, energetic with african influence, that spread their wings into the airwaves around the globe.”
His collaborations include artists such as Slikour, Skwatta Kamp, Prokid, Proverb, Jozi, JR, Liz Ogumbo, Easy Ees and Ziqo. He shared stages with Black Coffee, Major League Djs, Akon, Ne-Yo, Black Motion, Dj Fresh and Euphonik. He is constantly working to expand his artists network of like-minded supporters of his movement.
His music has recently been placed on Netflix shows from South Africa (Jiva!; Young, Famous and African) and rotates regularly on VH1, ESPN, NBC, ARD, ARTE, Pro7 and many more tv channels.
