Athesinus Consort Berlin is a professional vocal ensemble based in Berlin, Germany. The group operates as a double quartet with a soloist and consists of concert singers who are also active in other renowned ensembles such as the Collegium Vocale Gent and the SWR Vokalensemble. Founded by artistic director Klaus-Martin Bresgott, the ensemble takes its name from Leonhard Lechner (1553–1606), a composer from South Tyrol known for his work during the Renaissance period. The Athesinus Consort has released several notable albums including O Heiland, reiß die Himmel auf in 2010 and Samuel Scheidt – Cantiones Sacrae in 2018. The latter won the Choc de Classica award. Their album 432, released in 2021, was featured on the longlist for the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik. The ensemble is known for its thematic programming and collaborations with other art forms such as pantomime, dance, and percussion.
