TORO, mi prox disco. Pronto!
José Hoek is a Venezuelan pop artist focused on the use of analog synthesizers in his music.
The name Hoek derives from the dutch word for corner, which José adopted after talking to a group of musicians while explaining that the beginnings of his studio were in the corner of his house. The term Hoek also evokes geometry. To that end, José Hoek explores the interface between geometry and electronic music.
Throughout his previous residences in London, New York, Los Angeles, Bogotá and Caracas, José Hoek has garnered a wide array of musical influences that are in the core of his music and artistic goals.
After releasing Ida and Vuelta in the Summer of 2019, José Hoek will be releasing a new album in 2020, called Trémolo Park.
For 2021, José Hoek released the album POSTA, a dreamy, bedroom pop collection of songs.
In 2022, he will publish a double album called TORO, which expands its electronic pop roots to a wider range of influences.
