Gehenna are a Norwegian black metal band formed in January 1993 by Sanrabb, Dolgar, and Sir Vereda. The band were initially known for their demo Black Seared Heart (1993), released under Necromantic Gallery Productions. Following the departure of Sir Vereda due to legal issues, Dirge Rep joined as a replacement, marking a pivotal change in Gehenna's line-up. In 1994, they signed with No Fashion Records and recorded an unfinished full-length album that was later cancelled due to financial issues. The band gained significant attention after performing at the Zonen concert, which led to their inclusion in the Norwegian black metal documentary Det Svarte Alvor. Gehenna released Ancestor of the Darkly Sky, a 7-inch EP under Necromantic Gallery Productions, and later signed with Head Not Found and Cacophonous Records. Their first full-length album, Seen Through The Veils Of Darkness, was released in 1995, featuring a guest appearance by Garm from Arcturus and Ulver on the track "Vinterriket". Notable albums include Malice (1996), Murder (2000), 'Admirion Black' (2011) and 'Unravel' (2013).
