Krister Andersson, born May 3, 1951, in Eskilstuna, Sweden, is a Swedish musician known for his skills as a tenor saxophonist, alto saxophonist, and clarinetist. He began his professional career at 16 as a clarinetist in a military band and received classical music training at Kungliga Musikhögskolan in Stockholm. Influenced by Bernt Rosengren, John Coltrane, and Joe Henderson, Andersson transitioned to jazz. He gained attention as a saxophonist in Umeå, playing with the Umeå Big Band, and later joined ensembles like Egil "Bop" Johansen's Jazz Incorporated. Andersson led his own quartet and collaborated as a guest soloist across the Nordic countries and in Tanglewood, Massachusetts. His notable albums include And Friends (1986), About Time (1993), Catching the Moment (2002), and Live (2010).
