Norfolk based Ervin Munir is a solo acoustic singer/songwriter. He writes heartfelt songs about life and social injustice. He performs these solo and in his band. His influences are Paul Simon, James Taylor and the Eagles.
He started writing songs in the 70s. He released two singles and produced an album of local musicians’ original songs in 2015. More recently he co-wrote “Keep Rollin’ In” which was released in 2022, performed by Cutting the Mustard (led by Tina Blaber) at recorded at ‘Lightening Studios’.
As well as song writing, he performs solo at local folk clubs and helps run the open mic “Rock the Lobster”. He is also active in the Playing for Cake organisation which provides interactive singing for health and wellbeing music experiences.
In August 2022 he started working with producer Aeron Z Jones and they have been creating great songs ever since.
In October 2022, he held a sold-out concert in Sheringham and recorded a third single “Carolynn” at Abbey Road Studios in London, before performing at The Camden Club. You can also find him performing all over North Norfolk. He has released five singles since October 2022; “Why Did I Keep Movin’ On”, “She Never Made Old Bones”, “Carolynn”, “Fall Apart (2023)” and “Pick Up The Phone”.
He breaks new ground with his latest single “Fall From Grace”. It is a piano ballad with a pop and a folk influence. It’s catchy and features Ervin on vocals, piano and acoustic guitar, and Aeron Z Jones on electric guitar, lap-steel and bass. “Fall From Grace” will be available on all digital platforms from 6th October 2023. With its heartfelt lyrics, harmony vocals, soaring electric guitar solo, it’s another excellent release from Ervin.
