Suns of Arqa, a world music collective founded in 1979 by Michael Wadada, began their journey in the World Music scene with the debut album Revenge Of The Mozabites (1980), produced by Adrian Sherwood. In 1982, they performed at the inaugural WOMAD Festival and collaborated with Prince Far-I. Throughout the 1990s, Suns of Arqa released albums including Land of a Thousand Churches (1991) and collaborated with artists such as 808 State, A Guy Called Gerald, John Leckie, Youth, and others. The group has also performed at major festivals like Glastonbury and Phoenix Festival.
