Raphael Loopro was born in Germany but grew up in Willemstad Curacao. In the nineties he moved to the Netherlands with his family, where he then started exploring the musical scene.
He was the frontman of a local metalband called Kindred but gained popular aclaim with his boyband Case Closed at the beginning of the millenium. With the boyband Raphael had a few hits which garnished him appearances on dutch tv shows like Top of the pops en music programs on SBS6 and Veronica.
After joining a popular talent agency, Raphael moved to germany where he sang alongside some of the worlds greats. Amongst them, Joe Cocker, Mariah Carey, Juanes and more. Raphael earned popularity by starting to work with a loopstation as one of the first artists out there. Long before the Ed Sheerans and Tash Sultanas of the world, Raphael was making his money doing shows with his guitar, a loopstation, and electronic drums. He also sings in 13 different languages-.
The last ten years Raphael starting getting more in touch with his roots, and because of this realized that he loved to play music from all over the world. It was then that he started recording covers from popular balkan, african, spanish songs and more. He gained a huge following in the balkan and Africa with numerous viral covers. This eventually led to Raphael working with some big balkan stars like Boban Rajovic and Jala Brat.
Since 2017 Raphael Loopro regularly records African covers. His recording of Kwa George by B1 went viral in Zambia, and the same happened to his version of Dumalana by Vee Mampeezy in Botswana. The youtube and facebook numbers went skyhigh. This culminated in Raphael Loopro being invited to the Sand Music Festival in Malawi in 2019 and 2020, where he shared the stage with Master KG ( Jerusalema ) and Diamond Platnumz.
His talent was immediatley picked up by Dj Cosmo and Taygrin, who wanted to record a song with Raphael Loopro and Chica Africana was the result. With the demo they recorded a video and after returning to Germany. Raphael Loopro finished the mix and master.
