Raised in urban Hong Kong, songwriter, singer, and photographer julian. (Julian Tong) taught himself guitar at the age of 15, and achieved Grade 8 piano at 16. In high school, the Hong Kong/Taiwanese was in the spotlight; Performing in inter-house events, glee club, and even forming a small cover band known as “Bluezy”, which played Phum Viphurit, John Mayer and Foster The People. Julian produced and mixed a variety of acoustic covers, refining his craft and extending the ceiling.
After graduation, he moved to Leeds to study photography and continued to pursue songwriting and storytelling, teaming up with talented producer and close friend LCDWVES (Ambrose Yan). With a blended fresh production by LCDWVES, a new generation of sound was formed. Intricate, organic, and luscious, melodies inspired by the likes of Marshmello, Sting, Khalid, KAYTRANADA, Ty Dolla $ign, Tom Misch and Emotional Oranges gathered julian. attraction from a selection of major playlists and introductions into BBC Radio, Spotify's New Artist Friday, and the Hong Kong music scene.
