Hans Karl-Friedrich Beringer is a German choral and orchestral conductor. He studied at the Meistersinger Conservatory in Nuremberg and, while still a student in 1970, founded the Amadeus Choir and the Amadeus Orchestra. From 1976 to 1978, he served as artistic director of the International Youth Festival Choir of Bayreuth, and in 1978 he succeeded Hans Thamm as director of the Windsbach Boys’ Choir, which he led to international renown. Throughout his career, he collaborated with major orchestras including the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Munich Radio Orchestra, and the Munich Chamber Orchestra, and he regularly appeared at international music festivals from 1981 onward. He received numerous honors, including the Order of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany (1986) and an honorary doctorate from Augustana University (2008), among other awards. In September 2010, he announced his retirement from the Windsbach Boys’ Choir at the end of 2011.
