Sara Ontaneda is an award-winning singer-songwriter based in New York City. Her music is a colorful blend of Pop, Electronic and Latin sounds with heart-felt lyrics in both Spanish and English. Sara wrote all the lyrics, produced and was the recording engineer of her first EP, “Marte y Júpiter” released in 2015. This led Sara to tour in Ecuador as well as many cities of the US, including Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, among others. In March 2017, Sara released her debut album, “Entre Espacios y Colores” which includes 4 songs in English and 5 in Spanish. Sonically, the album blends South-American R&B, and Alternative elements often described as Nu-Latin. The album received great reviews in the US and Latin-America. “Entre Espacios y Colores’ is an excellent album overall, with mainstream appeal… there’s no fluff, just great Nu-Latin music. And Sara’s voice is not to be missed.” - The Huffington post With this album, Sara toured internationally with notable performances in SXSW, the NAMM Show, LIFA Music Festival (Mexico City), LatinIndie (Chicago), among others. She has also been the opening act for artist like Ella Baila Sola (In NJ) and Ruzzi, Vanessa Zamora (in Ecuador). In 2019 Sara won the award for “Best World Music” at the Richmond Film and Music Festival and the award for “Artist Revelation of the Year” at the Premios Unidad in NYC (Ecuadorian Music Awards). In 2022, she collaborated with Andean-pop artist Mirella Cesa for “Tu Recuerdo”. Later that year, she released "Volcan EP" with music inspired by 80s synth pop sounds, marking a new sonic era for the songstress. Sara continues to release music from the heart and play music live in NYC and abroad.
