Raised in QwaQwa in the East of the Free State as the first born, Katleho Vuyani Bongo well known as AfroToniQ always dreamed that he would one day be one of the biggest stars in the country, soon to be one of the biggest forces in the continent. His love for music began from an early age. He started off with a laptop in the early days of the year 2012 and that’s when he began to learn how to produce his owninstruments.
His love for music was inspired by the church he grew up attending which is International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) he fell in love with playing drums, Katleho details how he used to adapt to creating different sounds from Gqom to Afro House and understood the importance of being versatile in the music industry.
He started out playing/disc jockey in the dusty streets of QwaQwa and later realised his love and passion for music grew by the day, as his passion for music grew, that’s when he decided to pursue music as a career and later began to produce many hit songs for his people in the neighbourhood, also started performing in college campuses and all the community hot spots in and around QwaQwa. “I feel that the past years have groomed and prepared me for the journey that I’m currently on as a DJ and a Producer, I truly just want to be a worldwide brand” Katleho. Quitting my 9-5 job was the start of a new journey with each day teaching me something new and giving me the opportunity to perform or share stage with some of the biggest acts in the country across the province, such as Prince Kaybee, Mafikizolo, DJ Kent to name a few.
