Magicrays, a pop-rock band from Lausanne, Switzerland, was formed in 1989 by Wladimir Dudan and Raphael Enard. The band initially performed under the name Minds Of Contradiction before changing to Magicrays in 1993 with the addition of Gregori Rais on guitar and Yann Béguelin on drums. Their first EP was recorded that year.
Magicrays released their debut album, Granted, in 2000, followed by Take Me Home in 2002, and On The Shoreline in 2004, which marked the beginning of their collaboration with producer John Parish. Notable songs from this period include "Risky" from Take Me Home. The band continued to release albums such as Off the Map (2007), showcasing a unique sound and themes of travel and exploration. Magicrays collaborated with various artists such as Calexico, Favez, and Fauve, and became a prominent name on the Two Gentlemen Music label.
