PaulK, whose real name is Paul Kernbach, was born in Trier and grew up in the prefabricated housing estate Tannenbusch in Bonn. He began writing his own rap lyrics and producing beats at the age of 13. His musical development was shaped by his work in the studio at his parents' music school, where he honed his skills as a rapper and producer. His style is characterized by melancholic, introspective lyrics that focus on personal experiences and everyday observations. Musically, he combines analog jazz samples with modern hip-hop beats to create a unique sound aesthetic. Influences from German underground rap and an affinity for analog sounds characterize his productions. In 2023, PaulK releases his debut album Diamant im Dreck, which reaches high streaming numbers and brings him a growing fan base. In the same year, he was discovered by Frankfurt rapper Reezy and signed to his label Teenager Forever. The EP Kalter Westen and the singles "Lass mich" and "TNF" followed in 2024. His second studio album Drown im Traum is released in spring 2025. As a songwriter, PaulK works with various artists. His collaboration with Nina Chuba on the song "Fata Morgana", which reached number 2 in the German charts, is particularly noteworthy.
